POLAND: New Deputy Ministers

Following the appointments of new constitutional ministers, certain changes have also taken place amongst Deputy Ministers. This is a result of both the  European elections and the political equilibrium. According to Deputy PM Jarosław Gowin, the changes – younger government members – reflect a trend, which will likely be continued if the United Right wins the Autumn election.

Ministry of Investment and Development
Investment Ministry Secretary of State Andżelika Możdżanowksa, will be replaced by Anna Gembicka – appointed by PM Morawiecki as Undersecretary of State for SMEs. Investment Minister Jerzy Kwieciński announced that Gembicka will also take over as the Government Plenipotentiary for SMEs. Gembicka previously served as an advisor to PM Morawiecki. Furthermore, due to personal reasons Secretary of State Adam Hamryszczak has resigned from office and will be replaced by Waldemar Buda – appointed as Secretary of State for Regional Policy.

Ministry of Justice 
Deputy Justice Minister Patryk Jaki will be replaced by Marcin Romanowski. Romanowski who is an academic has previously served as an advisor to Justice Minister Ziobro. In 2018 he was appointed plenipotentiary of the Minister of Justice for Information Technology and Cybersecurity, as well as the Justice Fund.

Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology
As a result of the government reshuffle, Undersecretary of State Marcin Ociepa was promoted to Secretary of State. He is supposed to concentrate on overseeing the legislative process of laws proposed by the Ministry.

Ministry of Energy
It remains uncertain who will replace Secretary of State Grzegorz Tobiszowski after he assumed a European Parliament mandate. Although names of potential candidates have been circulating, a decision has not been made. The seat may remain empty until the Autumn election.
